The Bottom Line

Beginning June 1, 2018, CMS will no longer collect facility staffing data through the CMS-671 form. This information should be reported through the Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) system. This staffing data is now live on Nursing Home Compare and is being used to calculate the staffing rating in the Nursing Home Five-Star Quality Rating System. On Wednesday, July 11, 1:00pm, ET, postacute regulatory specialist Stefanie Corbett will discuss updates to PBJ that will take effect this month, July 2018. Other agenda items include:

  • Changes effective 6/1/18 - PBJ replaced the CMS 671 form
  • How PBJ data impacts the five star rating on Nursing Home Compare (as of 4/1/18)
  • F851 and consequences for failing to report/inaccurately reporting PBJ (as of 7/1/18)
  • Tips for ensuring accurate PBJ reporting

As a member of the Billers’ Association, you have access to four 60-minute webinars a year that help you navigate recent regulatory changes. Register for this quarter’s webinar today!
